The 2021-2022 Educational Challenge:
October 4 - 22, 2021
This is the PTO’s biggest fundraiser of the year, with 99 percent of the money raised going back to the school. Without this fundraiser, the PTO would not be able to financially support such things as anti-bullying presentations, annual art shows, classroom supplies, educational software, field trip transportation, new gym and playground equipment, new science and math tools, the fifth grade cultural experience, teacher expense reimbursement, and more.
Students are given age-appropriate math problems, and we aske that family and friends sponsor them for each correctly solved problem on the math test or to give a flat donation.

Thoughts about the Ed Challenge Fundraiser from Our Teachers...
“I have used the fundraising money for flex seating like stools, bean bag chairs, and yoga balls. I have also purchased cd players for our listening center. Those are all things kids LOVE to use!” (Mrs. Borndal – 1st grade)
“In just the past few years, in PE we have used the funds to help, with the assistance of the Girl Scouts, purchase the climbing wall in the gym (our students love it!) and we used the funds to purchase lacrosse equipment as that is becoming very popular and we did not have any equipment. Every year PTO has helped with our track and field day with providing funds for the equipment rental (inflatable games) and freezies for the students.” (Mr. Schmitz – Physical Education)
"We use the PTO money to buy classroom and teaching supplies, including additional resources for Daily 5 reading and Daily 3 math centers. We also use the funds to finance the Youth Frontier's Kindness Retreat. It is a high energy day to give our students tools to develop empathy, promote kindness and prevent bullying. And as we look into current classroom trends, we have purchased flexible seating which encourages collaboration, communication and interaction between students." (Mrs. Kolquist - 4th grade)
